Pierre Cautaerts

Pierre Cautaerts graduated as a bioengineer in chemistry from UCLouvain (Belgium). He specialized in nanomaterials and catalysis. With the acquired experience in synthesis and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts, he quit the reaction side and now exclusively focusses on the adsorption.

Pierre pursues the long tradition of carbon research and development in Etzold’s group by synthesizing porous carbon materials as sorbents for CO2 capture. Always up for some characterization talk, collaboration is in his DNA.
